Riding
Lessons
I
teach students three years old and up using
the "centered riding" philosophy, along with
videotaping and positive reinforcement to build
a confident, balanced rider. I believe that
a balanced seat is essential in order to be
an effective rider, in any riding discipline.
I teach Western and English for the trail and
pleasure rider as well as for the showman and
speed competitor. A safety riding helmet is
required and is provided if the student does
not have one. In addition to the riding lesson,
I incorporate classroom lessons using videos
and learning booklets to further increase the
students knowledge and skills, as well as, improve
horsemanship.

Summer
Camps
Horse
Riding Camps are offered at the Diamond B Equestrian
Center in Royse City. Beginner Camps are designed
to teach campers about the responsibilities
of owning a horse with hands on experience of
feeding, cleaning Stalls, grooming, bathing,
and tacking up in preparation for riding. In
addition to barn chores, they will learn saftey
and horsemanship while on and off the horse.
Each camper will ride at least 1 hour per day
on a variety of lesson horses, along with developing
their skills mounting, dismounting, starting,
walking, trotting, turning, and stopping. They
will also participate in fun activities such
as gymnastics on horseback, crafts, swimming,
games to test horsemanship, trail riding, obstacle
courses, and special presentations from horse
industry professionals. They may also get to
participate in a field trip.
Overnight camps for teens are designed to enhance
their knowledge of horsemanship, responsibilities
of owning a horse, and develop their riding/handling
skills to become more effective horsewomen.
Discussions on "cowgirl smarts" will help your
daughter understand the importance and power
in positive thinking and what determination
can do. They will ride and work with horses
at least 3 hours per day. This camp encompasses
a progressive lesson plan, which teaches a "balanced
seat" and how to more effectively communicate
with their horse through the proper use of seat
and leg aides. Other activities include campfires,
crafts, swimming, gymnastics on horseback, trail
riding, a horse pageant, show prep, lunging,
special presentations from horse industry professionals,
and competitions to test each campers progressive
riding skills. They may also get to participate
in a field trip. Please click the images below
